Jason Duval is one of the two characters at the center of Grand Theft Auto VI. He shares the story with Lucia Caminos. This page covers what Rockstar has said about Jason so far. The game comes out on 19 November 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Every fact here comes from Rockstar’s official GTA VI pages. We do not use leaks or rumors.
Who is Jason in GTA 6?
People often ask who Jason from GTA 6 is. He is a man who wants an easy life. Rockstar says things just keep getting harder for him. In the story, Jason and Lucia are partners. They have always known the odds are against them. When an easy score goes wrong, they end up in a big criminal plot across the state of Leonida. They have to rely on each other to get out alive.
Jason’s past
Jason grew up around grifters and crooks. His teen years were troubled. To shake that off, he spent time in the Army. After that, he found himself in the Keys.
What Jason does in the Keys
In the Keys, Jason does what he knows best. He works for local drug runners. Rockstar says it might be time for him to try something new.
The people around Jason
Two people in Jason’s life stand out. Brian Heder is a drug runner from the old smuggling days in the Keys. He lets Jason live rent free in one of his properties. In return, Jason helps with local shakedowns. Jason also stops by for Lori’s sangria now and then. Lori is Brian’s third wife. Cal Hampton is Jason’s friend. Rockstar calls Cal an associate of Brian too. Cal likes to stay home and listen in on Coast Guard radio. Jason has bigger plans than Cal does. You can read short profiles of Brian, Cal and the others in our guide to the game’s characters.
Jason and Lucia
Meeting Lucia could be the best or the worst thing that ever happens to Jason. He knows how he would like it to turn out, but right now it is hard to tell. Lucia has her own story. You can read it on the Lucia Caminos page.
What Jason says
Rockstar shares two short lines from Jason on its page. In one, he says he has someone’s back if anything happens. In the other, he jokes that it is just another day in paradise.
Jason’s Ultimate Edition items
The Ultimate Edition of GTA 6 comes with extra items. Rockstar’s edition page lists Jason’s Safehouse Vehicles and Personalized Weapon Variants among them. Rockstar gives only the names for now.
Who plays Jason?
The Rockstar pages we checked do not name an actor for Jason. We will cover the cast on a separate page.
